Ryan Carr, O.D.

Dr. Carr grew up in Veazie, Maine just outside of Bangor. He went to John Bapst Memorial High School and then to the University of Maine where he graduated in 2013 with a bachelor of science degree in microbiology. 

Dr. Carr earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from The New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts, graduating in 2018 with clinical honors. He was a fourth year extern at VA Maine, Merrimack Vision Care, Dorchester Community Health Center, as well as Newport Naval Base.  He went on to complete his ocular disease residency training at the Maine VA Medical Center in Augusta and Bangor, finishing in 2019.

Dr. Carr earned his fellowship through the American Academy of Optometry in 2019. He is a member in good standing of the American Optometric Association and the Maine Optometric Association.

Dr. Carr ilves in Portland and enjoys spending time with family and friends. He enjoys the outdoors particularly golfing, hiking, and camping. He is also an avid Boston sports fan.

Dr. Carr is accepting new patients and maintains hours at all three of our locations.
